Our Team
Dr. Simon Platt

DECVN, DACVIM (Neurology)
Dr. Simon Platt completed a residency in neurology and neurosurgery in 1998 at the University of Florida and after two years as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Georgia returned to the UK where he was Head of the Neurology / Neurosurgery service at the Animal Health Trust for 7 years. Simon spent the next 16 years as a Professor of Neurology at the Department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Georgia before leaving to join Vet Oracle Teleneurology. Simon is also the Small Animal Medical Director of Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging and Editor-in-Chief of Today's Veterinary Practice.
Dr. Platt was made a fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2018.
Dr. Platt has authored or co-authored over 200 journal articles and 50 book chapters and is the co-editor of the BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Neurology and the Manual of Small Animal Neurological Emergencies. Dr. Platt is a past-president of the ACVIM Neurology Specialty and the Founder member of the South Eastern Veterinary Neurology (SEVEN) association in the USA.
Dr. Ryan Gibson
DVM, DACVIM (Neurology)
Ryan Gibson is a veterinary educator and neurologist from Auburn University. His teaching focuses on foundational neuroscience, applications in clinical neurology, and microanatomy. His virtual consulting services are aimed at improving access to care for neurological patients and supporting general practitioners when referral is not an option. Dr. Gibson collaborates with researchers in exploring new drugs for neuropathic pain, translating the age of the neurological system across species, seizure therapies and protocols, cognitive dysfunction, and veterinary education.
